ShareWaves Overview: We continue to build a youth sports foundation that provides positive, game-changing solutions for children in under-resourced communities. We are helping kids play the games they love. Who We Are: ShareWaves is a 501c3 public charity working to deliver high-quality sports experiences to kids in under-resourced communities. Launched almost 3 years ago, ShareWaves is targeting children from any home that experiences multi-layered barriers to sports access and are less likely to receive the support they need. Our Why? The gap between "the haves" and the "have nots" is getting wider. Without access to sports and structured play, kids miss critical benefits, including physical health, social-emotional growth, and academic development. Emergent Issue!!! COVID restrictions further limited access to organized sports and extracurricular activities causing kids to lose an entire year of life-skill development, social interactions, and academic interruptions. ShareWaves is targeting several ways to help kids recover by delivering tangible impact to children suffering and delivering programs of significance to kids in need. 5 Key Initiatives: 1. Provide micro-funding grants to assist in connecting kids to high-quality sports experiences. 2. Build #Ready2Play Training Experiences for Kids and the #Ready2Play app. 3. Create digital content that showcases the "power of sports" to transform young lives. 4. Lead the formation of a KC Youth Sports Alliance (KC-YSA) 5. Host high-energy, one-of-a-kind events that raise awareness and support our mission. Children in our city need us now more than ever as they experience an avalanche of pressure this fall returning from extended periods of social isolation, educational uncertainty, and inactivity caused by COVID. ABOUT THE WAREHOUSE AT FTC Our newest and most versatile space, The Warehouse at FTC is a 640 capacity, flexible seating theatre conveniently located in the heart of Fairfield. Designed by Michael Smith Architects in order to accommodate the widest variety of programming, The Warehouse at FTC pairs a classic industrial feel with state of the art construction and staging. Its the embodiment of the artistic vision, enterprising spirit, and community mindset that have always helped FTC grow. ABOUT STAGEONE Established in 2004, StageOne is a 225 seat venue in the heart of downtown Fairfield, Connecticut. Originally built primarily for theatre productions, StageOne is consistently voted as the best place to hear live music in the entire region because of the quality of the sound, the intimacy of the space, and the caliber of the artists. There is literally not a bad seat in the house and there are few venues in the country where the fans can be so close to the world-renowned artists who grace the stage in over 200 concerts and productions a year. The artists love to perform here and frequently cite StageOne as their absolute favorite venue. This brings out the very best in them, which is reflected in the quality of their performances and enjoyment of their fans.
