Typical Life Corporation (TLC) is a private, not for profit, charitable organization that was incorporated in 1999. The agency was founded on progressive and innovative techniques in order to improve the quality of services offered to individuals who have a disability. Although disabled, the individuals served by TLC have the same rights, responsibilities, and opportunities to be active members of society. MSD is an accredited independent Montessori school for children ages 3 months through sixth grade bringing authentic Montessori education to families in Durham and the surrounding areas for over 40 years. Since our inception in 1976, Montessori School of Durham has been an affiliate of the American Montessori Society, and in 1996 we were recognized as the first school in North Carolina to become an Accredited School by the American Montessori Society.
