The Iowa City Community School District serves over 13,000 students and is the 5th largest school district in the state of Iowa. The District covers roughly 133 square miles with 17 preschool sites, 20 elementary schools, 3 junior high schools, 2 high schools, and 1 alternative high school. Thanks to the support of the Fremont community, a newly constructed middle school was opened on January 19, 2012. Fremont City Schools achieved an Excellent rating on the State of Ohio District Report Card for the 2011-2012 school year.
