He also understands, as someone who has been on the ground turning his city around from the brink, that we need to meet this moment with fresh and bold solutions that emerge from outside Washington--solutions that unite us around our shared values, instead of driving more partisan wedges between us, and that bring everyone to the table, instead of just preaching to the choir. We`ve faced big challenges as a nation before and we came together to overcome them.
