In the spring of 2001, the District with support from the Board and under the Superintendent`s leadership, established the "Read to Achieve Initiative." This program continues to focus on implementing research proven strategies that directly impact student performance. Teachers and administrators are working collaboratively to find out what we are doing well and identify those areas needing improvement. Other programs include Vocational Education, Technology Education, Gifted and Talented Education, and specialized reading and mathematics programs. Los Banos Unified School District is focused on becoming a destination district, where families choose to locate as a result of the quality instructional programs that are offered.
