The Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition is a non-profit agency, founded in 1989 with the support of the United Way of Greater St. Louis. The Coalitions vision is "For Every Child... A Place to Call Home." The Coalition does two things: 1. Recruitment. We are one of the areas largest recruiter of foster/adoptive homes because of our partnerships with the local media, including KSDK and 13 local newspapers. 2. Retention. Foster and adoptive parenting is a rewarding—but demanding—job. We offer many supports to parents, including advocacy, crisis intervention, training, support groups, newsletters, a resale shop, and the Little Wishes program. Want to become part of a movement to change the way kids experience foster care in metro St. Louis? Homeward Bound provides 24 hour care for individuals with developmental disabilities. Homeward Bound was lovingly founded in 1973 by the parents of children with a variety of disabilities, desiring to keep their children out of hospitals and institutions. We have 22 residential homes in the Twin Cities west metro area. Homeward Bound responds when a critical event occurs which finds a family unprepared and overwhelmed. We have vast experience, expertise and access to resources which support families and individuals with severe disabilities. A disability can happen to anyone, at anytime. Homeward Bound is there when a loved one develops dependencies which are beyond the scope or resources of the natural family. Please assist Homeward Bound in supporting families and individuals who find themselves with a disability and a life changed forever.
