CKF Inc. is a diversified Canadian-owned manufacturer that proudly offers a wide range of moulded pulp, foam, and rPET products to meet the specific demands of retail consumers, food service operators and the packaging industry. CKF is part of the Scotia Investments Family of Companies. R.A. Jodrey established Canadian Keyes Fibre Company Limited in the summer of 1933, during the worst of the Great Depression years. The Company began with a single plant in Hantsport, NS – manufacturing pie plates and cake circles for bakeries. CKF has experienced uninterrupted growth since its establishment and now operates 5 plants across the country – Hantsport, Rexdale, two in Langley, and Delta – employing over 800 people. Nationally recognized brand Royal Chinet® is one of CKF`s best known products and stands as a symbol for many Canadians of family, friends and joyous occasions.
When we created Urban Plates, our goal was simple: To use the best ingredients possible to create wholesome, delicious food that`s prepared before our guests` eyes just the way they want it. Our hope is that by making real food prepared by real chefs accessible to everyone in a convenient, comfortable setting we can empower anyone interested in making better food choices to be a bit healthier, happier and hopeful about the future. We`re based in San Diego, CA and found throughout the San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles areas, with additional locations in Northern California and Washington D.C.
We manage brands spanning multiple categories and classes of trade from coast to coast to coast. We`ve launched some and we`ve re-staged others but none of them were #1 to begin with. We`re proud of that. It speaks to the strength of our team and our selective approach to bringing on new clients. We`re an experienced team of focused, senior brand managers supported by solid business processes and technology. We manage fewer businesses with more applied resources. We`ve operated under this philosophy since 1945 and we`re still thriving. Pete Pappas & Sons Inc., a 4th generation family owned and operated business, grows, ships, packs and distributes fresh produce. This family business began in 1942 and has grown into two in-house brands: Patricia Brand Premium Produce and Pete`s Garden Organics. Pete Pappas & Sons has also expanded into farming in Tennessee, with their farm called Smoky Mountain Family Farms. Pete Pappas & Sons is run from a state of the art and fully refrigerated Jessup, MD warehouse spanning a whopping 120,000sf. The company was founded around tomatoes in the 1940s and it has grown to now specialize in many types of premium produce including tomatoes, berries, onions, peppers, melons, local and seasonal produce and even organics. Both the Jessup facility, and farm location in Tennessee are GFSI and organic certified.
