Winters Joint Unified School District

The Winters Joint Unified School District serves approximately 1525 students within the city of Winters and surrounding unincorporated areas of Yolo and Solano counties. The District schools are Waggoner Elementary (grades K-3), Shirley Rominger Intermediate School (grades 4-5), Winters Middle School (grades 6-8), Winters High School (grades 9-12), and Wolfskill Continuation High School. The District employs approximately 200 employees. Using the interest-based bargaining approach, employee groups and the District have a positive working relationship. Students have access to excellent core academic programs which are complimented by strong curricular and extra-curricular activities, including visual/performing arts, advanced placement courses, student leadership, and athletics. The District receives State and Federal funding for programs, including Title I, School Improvement Programs, Gifted and Talented Education, Migrant Education, as well as participating in the BTSA New Teacher Program through a consortium with Davis and Esparto School Districts and University of California - Davis. The Winters community has a history of involvement in its schools, and the District welcomes parent involvement at all grade levels.
