The Industry Training Authority (ITA) leads and coordinates British Columbia`s skilled trades system. ITA works with employers, employees, industry, labour, training providers and government to issue credentials, manage apprenticeships, set program standards and increase opportunities in the trades. ITA is also a key collaborator in the B.C.`s Skills for Jobs Blueprint, which sets out a plan for re-engineering our education and training system to support our growing and changing economy, and to help British Columbians take full advantage of the opportunities presented by these changes.
Western Growers exists for one reason only: to ensure the future viability of its members – the hard-working, salt-of-the-earth farmers who grow the fruits, vegetables and tree nuts that feed our nation and nourish our bodies. But their way of life, their ability to pass their multi-generational farms and family legacies on to their children and grandchildren, is being jeopardized by a host of threats, many of them beyond their control. They face a growing litany of laws and regulations that make it increasingly difficult and expensive to do business. Our members depend on us to help them remain competitive and profitable in spite of these trying circumstances, which we do by fighting – heart and soul – for them every single day. We passionately advocate for them in the halls of Congress and on the steps of the state capitol. We actively facilitate the advancement of technology designed to help them become more efficient and less dependent on diminishing resources. We diligently provide health insurance to their farm workers, as well as other insurance solutions tailored to the unique business. We do all of this, and more, from a position of leadership in the agriculture industry, which requires a team of intelligent, inquisitive and innovative individuals committed to our common purpose. Western Growers was founded in 1926 and is headquartered in Irvine, California with offices in Bakersfield, Fresno, Imperial, Modesto, Sacramento, Salinas and Santa Maria, California along with offices in Phoenix and Somerton, Arizona, and Washington, D.C.
The Northern Metropolitan Hospital Association (NorMet) was originally established in 1974 as a membership organization for some 40 voluntary and public hospitals located in the seven Hudson Valley counties immediately north of New York City — Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester. NorMet has grown considerably since 1974, yet remains specifically committed to helping health care facilities in the Hudson Valley to increase their operational effectiveness and better meet the public`s health care needs. A growing array of Association functions and activities brought on the need for corporate reorganization in 1983, and resulted in the formation of these corporate entities: NorMet Hospital Association NorMet Shared Services NorMet Health Care Foundation NorMet Hospital Association is a 501(c) (6) trade organization which acts as an information clearinghouse, pursues governmental relations activities and advocacy, and acts as liaison with numerous regulatory and health related agencies. NorMet Shared Services Corporation, A Sub-Chapter T business organization, facilitates cost savings through group purchasing of services and other shared undertakings in behalf of the NorMet membership. NorMet Health Care Foundation, a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit corporation, assists in the development of educational programs, research activities, and dissemination of public information. Suburban Hospital Alliance of New York State, LLC. was informally founded in 2006 by the Northern Metropolitan Hospital Association (NorMet) and the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council (NSHC), NorMet’s sister association. In 2012, these two organizations officially formed the Suburban Alliance. NSHC represents hospitals on Long Island. The Suburban Alliance ensures that the specific concerns of suburban hospitals from the Hudson Valley region and from the Long Island region are heard in Albany and Washington. Together with our partners, we provide healthy solutions to end hunger in our community. We serve Sarasota and Desoto counties in Florida. As All Faiths Food Bank has grown from simply feeding people in need to focusing on solving the problems surrounding hunger – overall nutritional quality, access to healthy food, school nutrition and its impact on learning – we look to find ways to provide nutrition education to people of all ages. We see hunger as a health issue and work towards ending the line, not just feeding it.
