Discovery Place operates Discovery Place and Charlotte Nature Museum and Discovery Place KIDS. The first Discovery Place KIDS museum opened in Huntersville, N.C., in October 2010 and is the first in a planned network of regional children’s museums. Providing an extraordinary and rich play experience that engages children’s imagination and inspires learning, the Museum is designed to serve children and their parents or caregivers. A second Discovery Place KIDS opened in Rockingham, N.C., in February 2013. Discovery Place also offers off-site educational experiences to community groups and schools throughout N.C. and S.C. through its ScienceReach program.
