Since 1939, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter has been dedicated to its mission: support animals, save lives, spread compassion. We are northern New Mexicos only open-admission, no-kill shelter. As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, we receive nearly all of our funding from private donors in our community and beyond. Santa Fe Animal Shelter focuses on spay/neuter programs to control overpopulation, creative adoption efforts to bring pets to loving families and dozens of programs providing support for marginalized animals. Thanks to a partnership with the City of Santa Fe and the Bureau of Land Management, the main Shelter is housed on a 100-acre campus with hiking trails and plenty of room to walk dogs. Thanks to our supporters, in 2017 we: * took in 5,063 animals in need. * found new homes for 2,904 animals. * returned 1,195 lost animals to their homes. * gave 179 animals a second chance with our Shelter partners. * sent 626 animals to temporary foster homes. * spayed or neutered 5,661 animals. The Mobile Principal app has two main components: Student Referral & Teacher Evaluation. Student Referral: The Student Referral component is a cyclical referral process that is designed to communicate students socio-emotional needs in real time to all stakeholders (parents, teachers, staff). This includes steps taken by a teacher, staff member or administrator to support students for both positive and challenging behaviors and academic needs. Teacher Evaluation: The Teacher Evaluation system transfers a teacher evaluation rubric into an user friendly web -based system that allows principals to utilize any electronic device to observe and document teacher performance. In addition, this App includes data reports that give a detailed description of recommendations, observations required, tenure status, and a professional learning section that includes meaningful and actionable feedback and professional development recommendations to improve teaching practice. Our Founder has worked on various missions and objectives for NASA and Lockheed Martin. His mother, an elementary school principal, would often call him with problems. One day she informed him that her job would be much easier if she had access to a cyclical student referral process that was supported and communicated to all stakeholders in real time. After hearing his mothers concerns, our Founder decided to use his skills and technology experience to help all school districts. The Mobile Principal app provides user-friendly technology for all school districts in the nation. We have developed an application that allows staff, teachers and administrators to submit an electronic referral that captures both positive interactions for rewards and challenges that are necessary to address for student development
