Educare is a research based program with a foundation in the best of early childhood practices that ensure school readiness of children most at risk for school failure. It is an innovative partnership between private philanthropists, Head Start/Early Head Start, Tulsa Public School officials and community partners dedicated to narrowing the achievement gap for children in their communities. To affect meaningful change with Baby Box programs requires thoughtful integration of Baby Box distribution into the existing community infrastructure and providing parents with universal access to education materials. At our core, we strongly believe that community is transformational and that people working together have the ability to improve maternal and infant health trends. To this end, we have an internal education department at The Baby Box Co. which works in close partnership with local healthcare professionals to ensure that our programs are tailored to the unique needs of every community we serve. The Baby Box is an incredible intervention tool that is so much more than a singular safe sleep resource; it is an incentive for mothers to seek regular prenatal check-ups and it is a precious opportunity for healthcare providers to engage more effectively with new parents in their care.
At NWAESC, `Making a Difference!` has become our motto and we proudly wear the starfish pin which symbolizes our commitment to this mission. We place a high priority on an attitude of service and believe in going the `extra mile` to anticipate and meet the needs of our districts, which will help them increase the achievement of their students. We concentrate on treating smallest districts with the same level of service as the largest of our districts, working on the `little things` returning phone calls promptly, helping find solutions to problems, and treating every question as if it is the first time it has been asked. We do not feel that we supervise our districts or tell them what to do; rather, we are a resource and we do everything we can to help them accomplish their goals.
