The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) is a non-profit educational organization that educates physicians and other healthcare practitioners in improving the assessment and management of complex, chronic disease through the use of functional medicine. IFM provides ACCME-accredited onsite and web-based training in functional medicine, publishes clinical textbooks and monographs, and communicates with policymakers, practitioners, educators, researchers, and the public to disseminate the functional medicine knowledge base more widely.
VGN is funded by a five-year award from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, and is part of the NIH initiative called IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research (INBRE). VGN is a collaboration among the University of Vermont, Castleton State College, Green Mountain College, Johnson State College, Lyndon State College, Middlebury College, Norwich University and Saint Michael`s College to build critical mass and infrastructure in the broad area of genetics and Biomedical Science.
