The Mets play their home games at Citi Field in Queens after previously calling the Polo Grounds and Shea Stadium home. Fun Facts: An iconic large red apple rises from a hat beyond the center field fence when the Mets hit a home run. The team’s mascot – Mr. Met – was the first mascot for a professional sports team and is enshrined in the Mascot Hall of Fame. ‘Ya Gotta Believe’ is a synonymous rallying cry by the fan base. The Mets have had several legendary managers throughout their history, including: Casey Stengel, Gil Hodges, Yogi Berra, Bobby Valentine and current skipper Terry Collins.
