The company started in 1965 with eight employees and a $60,000 budget in a time when there were few community organizations helping people with disabilities. Today, we have more than 850 employees and a budget of $27+ million. We expanded our services in recent years with the opening of nine Job Connection Centers. These centers connect businesses and job seekers in local community, as well as the surrounding counties. The centers offers a wide array of services and classes.
Builders of Hope is an established and innovative leader in affordable housing and urban renewal. Since our founding in 2006, we have successfully created and rebuilt neighborhoods by providing workforce housing through the reuse of existing inventory. Builders of Hope saves homes slated for demolition and recycles them using our patent-pending “Extreme Green Rehabilitation” model for residential construction. This process creates beautiful, healthier homes that are energy efficient and less costly to maintain. Additionally, through the Upcycle program, Builders of Hope transforms foreclosed, vacant properties into energy efficient, affordable rentals for working-class Americans. International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.
