The Lenoir City School System was organized in 1907, and has been a separate school system since the city was chartered. It consists of an elementary school, grades Pre K-3, a intermediate/middle school, grades 4-8, a high school, grades 9-12, and a Central Office. Developing a facility that will be state of the art for the twenty-first century is a prime goal.
