University of Cincinnati Medical Center was founded in 1821 as the teaching hospital for UC College of Medicine, the first in the United States. Founded in 1898, Des Moines University comprises three colleges offering nine graduate degrees. SUNY Plattsburgh was founded in 1889 as an institution of higher education with the sole mission of training teachers.
