iFixit is a global community of people helping each other repair things. We believe that repair reduces e-waste, saves people money, and teaches engineering. Fixers from all over the world have helped us write thousands of repair manuals for everything from cellphones to appliances to clothing. Why do we do it? Because most companies—even those that make great products—dont provide repair parts or repair documentation. Too often, people dont have the means to repair their broken stuff and needlessly buy new things. We want to stand up against the throwaway culture. Everyone should have the right to maintain and fix what they own. And we need everyones help to do so. Nobody knows how to fix everything—but thats okay. Most people know how to fix something.
