Position Responsibility
Strategy, Vision and Leadership
• As CFO serve as the primary SCPR officer to the board finance committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.
• Regularly advise SCPR executive management and APMG financial leadership and other key members of senior management on financial planning budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
• Contribute to the development of SCPR`s strategic goals and objectives. Work with SCPR executive management to establish business and strategic planning processes.
• Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the senior leaders informed of all critical issues.
• Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in banking, lease negotiations and other vendor relationships.
Team Development/Leadership
• Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance and operations teams.
• Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
• Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
• Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments.
• Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.
Operations
• Manage and lead the annual budget process.
• Provide analytical support to SCPR`s management team including development of internal management reporting capabilities.
• Provide support on annual audit activities.
• Responsible for the effective implementation of a system of internal controls at SCPR, in coordination with APMG Finance Department and existing organization-wide policies and controls.
• Manage administrative and operational accounting services such as treasury management, grants payment processing, payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing.
• Maintain proper contract management processes and protocols for SCPR.
• Monitor and manage Risk Management policies that meet the needs of the organization.
• Identify ongoing operational requirements associated with new contracts. Ensure that these requirements are part of the planning process.
• Monitors departmental key performance indicators of all existing earned income business activities and manages those businesses to meet expected incoming targets.
• Drives systems/process integration to improve business performance.
Required Qualifications and Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Business or Accounting degree mandatory, a master`s in business administration is preferred
• CPA strongly preferred
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior management role ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience gained in a high-growth organization
• High-level knowledge of Fund accounting, FASB 116/117 and GAAP.
• Experience either as an employee or board member of a nonprofit organization; must be familiar with nonprofit finance and accounting regulations
• Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization
• Ability to consistently work well with others and to inspire and lead teams
• Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
• Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
• Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
• Business planning and modeling experience for new programs, products and/or services.
• Ability to build and maintain vendor relationships and to represent the organization with 3rd parties.
• Must be able to synthesize complex ideas and activities into coherent and compelling narratives
• Ability to handle ambiguity, and figure out initial steps to take in an ambiguous environment
• Knowledge of online revenue and business models
• Ability to manage projects with higher risk profiles
• Strong negotiation skills
Reporting To This Position: SCPR accounting and budget analyst support personnel.
