In June 2007, the parent company, South Atlantic Bancshares, Inc. was created and plans were underway for the new bank to debut later in the year. South Atlantic Bank opened its doors for the first time on November 28, 2007 at 2050 Corporate Centre Drive in Myrtle Beach. In January 2010, the bank moved into its new headquarters at the corner of 29th Avenue North and Grissom Parkway.
