Edgecombe is a rural County situated approximately one hour`s drive east of Raleigh and two hour`s drive inland from North Carolina`s beaches. With a population of approximately 56,000 persons, the County maintains a firm agricultural base while supporting advanced manufacturing. The County continues to maintain its famous charm and hospitality. Tarboro, the County Seat, is particularly beautiful and offers brick paved sidewalks, a Downtown Historic District and the historic Town Common among other attractions. All of our other 10 municipalities offer something unique to what makes Edgecombe County great. The city of Rocky Mount is the largest municipality in the county. Rocky Mount is divided into two (2) counties, Nash and Edgecombe. There are jobs available within the County and our local Community College offers a wide variety of educational and skills enhancing opportunities. Within 30 minutes drive are East Carolina University, Barton College and Wesleyan College. Medical facilities within the County include Edgecombe County Health Department, Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, Vidant Multispecialty Clinic, Freedom Hill Health Center, and OIC Medical Center. Within thirty minutes drive is the nationally known East Carolina University Medical Center and Vidant Medical Center. Edgecombe County`s location offers a mild year-round climate with four distinct seasons. After a brief winter snowfall or two, we know that it won`t be long until the Dogwoods begin to bloom. After a few days of hot sunbathing days in summer, we know that the local maple trees will soon begin to show the brilliant colors of fall. The mission of the California Emergency Medical Services Authority is to ensure quality patient care by administering an effective, statewide system of coordinated emergency medical care, injury prevention, and disaster medical response. The EMS Authority is charged with providing leadership in developing and implementing EMS systems throughout California and setting standards for the training and scope of practice of various levels of EMS personnel. The EMS Authority also has responsibility for promoting disaster medical preparedness throughout the state, and, when required, coordinating and supporting the state`s medical response to major disasters. Emergency and disaster medical services in California are rooted in the skills and commitment of the first responders, EMTs, nurses, physicians, and administrators who deliver care to the public and operate the system. In order for high quality services to be delivered with high efficiency, all aspects of EMS systems must work together, mutually reinforcing and supporting each other for the benefit of the patient. The California EMS Authority, through standard setting, consensus building, and leadership, plays a central role in improving the quality of emergency medical services available for all Californians.
The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) administers California`s sales and use, fuel, tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis taxes, as well as a variety of other taxes and fees that fund specific state programs. CDTFA-administered programs account for over 25 percent of all state revenue. California`s essential services, such as public safety, transportation, health, libraries, schools, social services, and natural resource management programs, are directly supported by these taxes and fees. Tax programs administered by the CDTFA are concentrated in two general areas – sales and use tax, and special taxes and fees. To best serve our taxpayers, the CDTFA has offices throughout the state along with offices located in New York, Chicago, and Houston. While the CDTFA team is spread out geographically, we are united in working together to accomplish our mission.
