This position will oversee and direct the full spectrum of HR operational activities; develop close working relationship with all the Mexico Plant Managers and the Leadership Team to support the development and execution of HR initiatives and plans; facilitate, recommend and provide advice to the business leaders on a variety of people issues and ensure that solutions are in accordance with company`s policies and local laws; provide leadership to the Mexico HR team and build HR organization capability; be a resource to the NA HR organization; oversee Shared Services with close coordination with offsite managers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and execute an HR strategy that supports the business units across three Mexico locations of Matamoros, Muzquiz, and Piedras Negras as well as that supports the Littelfuse HR strategies.
- Build, lead and develop the Mexico HR teams; strengthen HR capabilities.
- Collaborate with plant leadership members in identifying the people and organizational implications and coming up with appropriate solutions to address business needs and root causes of the problems.
- Participate in selection process of key leadership positions and in the talent review processes across the plants.
- Direct the shared services functions of C&B, staffing & OD to ensure delivery of services such as processes or policies are communicated, planned and implemented effectively across off-site managers.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure effective execution of HR processes, policies and procedures associated with performance management, employee & labor relations.
- Ensure relevant local policies are designed and managed in line with national policies and legislation.
- Oversee effective M&A integration plans and activities when they occur impact the Mexico region.
Requirements
Bachelor`s degree; Master`s degree preferred.
- 15+ years of working experience in the HR function in a multi-plant manufacturing environment, of which some years must be in a multinational company environment; experience managing both Mexico and USA manufacturing plants preferred.
- In depth understanding of organizational development, compensation, staffing, training, performance management, and employee & labor relations functions.
- Experience working in a unionized environment a must and preferably with experience working in automotive and electronics industries.
- Must have good skills and experience at building effective teams and developing direct reports.
- Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to changes.
- Good understanding of the complexities of people management and able to cope with ambiguities and uncertainties.
- Strong project management & organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across multiple locations.
- Proactive and result oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confident, assertive and comfortable at dealing with people of all levels and nationalities.
- Ability to coach managers on people issues and challenge status quo.
- Excellent command of written and spoken Spanish & English.
- Proficient in PC applications, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Must be willing to travel 60% of the time to the MX plant locations and occasionally to our Headquarters in Chicago and/or other international locations.
- Candidates will be considered for either Brownsville, TX or Eagle Pass, TX.
