The Santa Barbara County Fire Department serves and safeguards the community from the impacts of fires, medical emergencies, environmental emergencies, and natural disasters through leadership, planning, education, prevention, code enforcement, and all-hazard emergency response. Since 1926, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department has supported the County of Santa Barbara through 16 stations and approximately 300 personnel. The City of Miami is known as the “Magic City” and is the largest municipality in Miami-Dade County. Our world renowned skyline stretches across Biscayne Bay. According to the most recent US Census estimates (July 2015) 441,003 people call Miami home. Many of our residents come from Caribbean Islands and Central and South America. In fact, 70% of our population is Hispanic or Latino. The City of Miami is governed by Mayor Francis Suarez, City Manager Emilio Gonzalez and 5 City Commissioners who oversee their districts in the City including neighborhoods like Wynwood, Little Haiti, Little Havana and Brickell, which is the heart of our thriving financial district. The City has 4,864 employees working in 37 departments from Agenda Coordination to Zoning. We have 137 parks, 3 of which are designated National Forest Communities. There are Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET) offices in 11 different communities providing convenient access to services. The Miami Trolley provides free transportation throughout the city and recently surpassed a major milestone - 5 million riders. We are the City of Miami - a great place to live, work and play!
Newport is a city set on Aquidneck Island in the New England state of Rhode Island. Its yacht-filled harbor hosted the America`s Cup, a renowned annual sailing regatta, for many years. Newport is also known for the Gilded Age mansions lining Bellevue Avenue, some of which are now museums. The most famous is The Breakers, an 1895 mansion patterned after a Renaissance palace.
Celina is a "Home Rule City" which puts the governing of the city in the hands of the elected City Council with the City Manager implementing those decisions. As a member of the City Council for the past several years, I am proud to be involved in the progression of our community. Comprehensive plans for our future land use and growth have been developed and many have been accomplished. Although we still have several planning projects and decisions to make. These decisions need to be made to ensure we grow with our goals in mind. Since we are located on Hwy. 289 (Preston Road) and the new extension of the Dallas North Tollway, we have quick access to Frisco, Plano, and the DFW area which offers limitless opportunities. That is one of the many reasons my wife and I chose Celina as our home after graduating from Texas A & M University. We loved the small-town charm and both have family which run deep throughout this area. Our families raised us in communities which had great pride in their traditions. This sense of community pride is what we wanted for our children and is exactly what we found in Celina.
