Liberty Mutual Insurance is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Professional who thrives on partnering with business leaders to enable the attainment of their organization`s business objectives by delivering Human Resources programs and services. This role is aligned to Information Technology.
The Principal HR Partner will be responsible for providing consultative support to leaders and managers, supporting the business in advancing the talent management agenda, managing the day-to-day execution of human resources policies and programs such as employee relations, training, talent development, and compensation, and benefits. The role is also responsible for guiding and directing employees to the tools and resources they need (including HR) to effectively do their jobs, develop their skills, and manage their careers.
Responsibilities:
• Executes on the actions that align HR with the needs of the business. Balances interests of managers and employees.
• Clearly communicates the impact/implications Corp/SBU HR initiatives will have on the business and the workforce. Understands issues from perspective of assigned client groups.
• Executes local HR plans to improve operational effectiveness, incorporating data analysis from organizational diagnoses. Provides feedback on plans and makes appropriate recommendations. May conduct organizational diagnoses as directed.
• Partners with managers to enable change efforts including conducting assessment and impact analysis, developing change and communicates plans and expectations, and implementing necessary changes.
• Coaches managers to develop clear objectives and development plans, to provide coaching and feedback during the year, and to evaluate individual and group performance. Facilitates performance rating review and calibration processes with assigned client groups.
• Coaches managers in assessing and developing talent, and participates in actions to build organizational bench strength. Acts as a resource to employees on career development.
• Facilitates talent review and calibration processes with assigned client groups.
• Supports managers in solving people-related business problems by understanding local issues, considering possible alternatives, and taking action quickly and efficiently.
• Executes day-to-day HR responsibilities, applying knowledge of policies and procedures in the following areas: Employee Relations, Compensation, HR Policy and Procedures, Workplace Safety, Benefits, and Recruiting (if applicable).
• Coordinates with managers on any impact analysis required for change efforts, communicates plans and expectations, and implements necessary changes.
• Coaches managers to develop clear objectives and development plans, to provide coaching and feedback during the year, and to evaluate individual and group performance. Facilitates performance rating review and calibration processes with assigned client groups.
• Coaches managers in assessing and developing talent, and participates in actions to build organizational bench strength. Acts as a resource to employees on career development.
• Facilitates talent review and calibration processes with assigned client groups.
• Coaches managers on low-to-moderately complex employee relations issues, providing guidance on conversations with employees, the employee relations process, and potential legal issues. Involves appropriate resources as necessary and may participate in investigations.
• Partners with management to increase or maintain employee engagement levels by supporting on boarding of new employees, analyzing EOS results, and implementing EOS.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor`s degree (preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration) or equivalent experience required, in addition to 2-8+ years of relevant and progressively more responsible human resources experience.
• Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, programs, and procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with customer groups in order to positively influence decisions and actions.
• Understands business needs and how to leverage HR expertise to meet those needs.
• Solid analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage conflict and address competing points of view.
• Solid ability to shift work focus and manage multiple priorities.
• Displays strong PC skills, to include Excel and PowerPoint.
• Travel to multiple locations required, including Allentown 1-2 days per week. Can work 1-2 days from home as well.
