Lorian Home Health is a San Diego, CA-based company in the Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, and Biotech sector.
Targeting Cancer. Transforming Therapies. Revolutionary science meets transformative cancer therapy Seattle Genetics is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through advanced antibody-drug conjugate technology designed to deliver cell-killing agents directly to tumor cells. The largest global oncology biotechnology company based in the Pacific Northwest, we are focused on developing and commercializing a new generation of targeted, empowered antibody-based therapies that have the potential to change the foundation of treatment for people with cancer. Our industry-leading antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) technology combines the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, innovative linker systems, and the power of potent cell-killing agents to treat cancer. Using our proprietary technology, we are able to optimize each ADC to potentially improve outcomes for patients. ADCs are an integral part of the evolving cancer treatment paradigm with their specificity, stability and potency. In addition to one marketed product, we are advancing a strong product pipeline designed to address significant unmet medical needs.
Kezar co-founder Christopher Kirk, Ph.D. began his work on the unique function of the immunoproteasome at Proteolix in 2005, while working on the compound that would become the successful multiple myeloma drug KYPROLIS™ (carfilzomib). As VP of Research at Onyx Pharmaceuticals, which acquired Proteolix in 2009, Christopher led the efforts to develop the first selective inhibitors of the immunoproteasome and designed multiple studies demonstrating their profound immunomodulatory effects. In parallel with this work, Christopher and Kezar co-founder Jack Taunton, Ph.D. collaborated on several research projects involving protein secretion. This collaboration inspired a belief in the strong synergies between protein degradation and protein secretion, two fertile areas for drug discovery with platform potential. In 2014, Christopher and Kezar co-founder John Fowler began developing the business plan for Kezar, acting on a longstanding desire to work together and build a world-class company. In 2015, John and Christopher raised $23M and negotiated a worldwide, exclusive license agreement with Amgen for the Onyx immunoproteasome inhibitor patent estate. Now underway, John and Christopher are excited to leverage their complementary skill sets to build Kezar into a leader in small molecule drug development.
QurAlis is developing precision therapeutics for ALS, a terminal disease that causes muscle paralysis through degeneration of the motor system. We are digging deep into the root causes of the multiple sub-forms of this destructive disease and focus our programs on tackling specific disease-causing mechanisms.
Neuralink is developing the capabilities of the brain through technological augmentation. A "neural lace” would be surgically connected to a human brain and allow a user to interact with a computer without the bandwidth challenges that come with current input methods, including keyboards, mice and trackpads. Neuralink will explore how brain interfaces might alleviate the symptoms of dangerous and chronic medical conditions.
