The Medical College of Wisconsin, or simply MCW, is a private, freestanding medical school and graduate school of sciences located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was formerly affiliated with Marquette University, but has operated as an independent institution since 1967.[1] MCW is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (NCA) of Colleges and Schools and by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). The NCA is the accrediting body for all institutions of higher education in the College's geographic region and the LCME is the accrediting body of all US medical schools. Along with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, it is one of only two medical schools in Wisconsin, and it is the only private medical school in the state.
