San Diego Metropolitan Transit System

As the largest provider of public transportation in San Diego County, the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is committed to providing exceptional service to the people of the San Diego region. Every year more than 95 million people ride MTS buses and Trolleys. We have more than 80 fixed-route bus lines and 54 miles of Trolley service. Our fleet of compressed natural gas buses and electric Trolleys allow MTS to be one of the greenest companies in San Diego. As our region continues to grow, there will be a greater dependence on public transportation to help achieve mobility goals. MTS is adding three new Bus Rapid Transit lines to provide high-speed, limited-stop bus service to SDSU, Otay Mesa, Rancho Bernardo and Escondido. And plans are progressing to expand the Trolley 11 miles from Old Town to UCSD and University Town Center. MTS is one of the most modern and dynamic public transportation systems in North America and we would love for you to help us achieve our goals!

County of Inyo

The County of Inyo is a political subdivision of the State of California. Its vision is to provide responsive decision making while supporting cultural and historical values, the natural environment and rural quality of life. Inyo County is a land of magnificent natural diversity. Mount Whitney is the highest peak in the lower 48 states. Death Valley is the lowest point in the U.S., and the Great Basin bristlecone pines are the oldest life forms in the world. Beyond this, experts agree that Inyo County has excellent trout fishing, hiking in the Sierra, and magnificent vistas. In addition Inyo County offers the best alpine climbing, spring backcountry skiing, hang gliding, horsepacking and mountain biking in the world! The County offers a full spectrum of adventure and involvement from the absolute stillness and peace of the desert, through the meadows blanketed with wildflowers, over the rushing mountain streams of the forest, to the wind whipped granite peaks. There is nowhere one can turn without seeing Natures striking beauty. One can experience this unforgettable grandeur from the comfort of one`s car, on foot or on horseback. The granite peaks of the High Sierra have been sculpted by glaciers, wind and weather into some of Natures most glorious works of art. The John Muir Wilderness has remained virtually unchanged for thousands of years. Our county is dotted with historic towns providing professional services and the equipment one will need for ones excursions, whether it`s backpacking, fishing, horsepacking, skiing, climbing, biking, photography, or just sightseeing.

District of Lake Country

The District of Lake Country is located near the centre of the Okanagan Valley and is made up of four distinct neighbourhood communities: Oyama, Winfield, Carr's Landing and Okanagan Centre. Lake Country is a beautiful, unique place, rich in its own cultural history. The District was incorporated as a municipality on May 2, 1995. Shortly after incorporation, a referendum was held and the residents decided to maintain their four, distinct neighbourhood communities. The result was the formation of the only municipality in British Columbia that currently utilizes a neighbourhood constituency system. This allows each of the four neighbourhood communities to elect one Councillor, with the mayor and two councillors-at-large being elected by all the residents of the District.
