We are a familiar face and trusted friend in central and southwest Minnesota but with a new name. The new name – United Community Action Partnership, Inc. (UCAP) – was adopted through the merging of two organizations (Heartland Community Action and Western Community Action) with a rich history of helping people, changing lives, and working to eliminate poverty in the lives of people in Cottonwood, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Redwood, and Renville counties. UCAP is a joint effort to bring together area resources to effectively and efficiently address the growing needs of our local communities in southwest Minnesota. We continue to hold true to our history of being a “grass-roots” private nonprofit organization that is represented and led by the communities we serve.
For more than 35 years, Aspiranet has been dedicated to creating permanent, lifelong connections for children and families located in California. A nonprofit 501(c)(3) community-based organization headquartered in South San Francisco, we offer a statewide network of innovative and multi-faceted services that enhances the lives of over 10,000 families each year. Aspiranet`s 35 core family support programs in 44 locations are run by over 1,100 compassionate employees committed to strengthening and empowering communities through the Aspiranet network. Cornerstone Services provides progressive, comprehensive services to people with disabilities promoting choice, dignity, and the opportunity to live and work in the community. Since 1969 Cornerstone has been a leader in meeting the unique needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illnesses, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. Cornerstone is licensed by state and federal agencies. We are an Illinois-based, not-for-profit organization which provides employment, community support, residential and behavioral health services through four program departments.
Phoenix House provides individualized, holistic drug and alcohol addiction treatment, with a legacy spanning nearly 50 years. As a leading nonprofit treatment provider, we offer affordable evidence-based care to teens, adults, and families, as well as unique programming for mothers with young children and the military community. At our Phoenix House Academies, teens receive residential care while attending on-site, accredited high schools.
