Position Description
The Regional HRBP, Americas will be responsible for supporting key internal stakeholders while also driving regional consistency in HR policies and practices within the Americas. The role assists in providing strategic partnership to large, regional client groups, as well as supporting designated geographic regions through design, execution and delivery of human resources initiatives, programs and actions. Plans, develops, and implements global HR initiatives in support of strategic business goals. Influences effective decision making and drives organizational growth. Full accountability for the successful implementation of HR related processes, practices, policies and outcomes for assigned regions in order to maximize JC strategic priorities and imperatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with the Global HRBPs to deliver the John Crane divisional HR strategy and agenda within the region.
• Coordinate efforts with CoE, Global HRBP and HRSC / local HR teams as applicable, to ensure delivery on all strategic plans.
• Proactively plan and effectively execute talent acquisition, performance management, talent management and development, total rewards and recognition, organization effectiveness and related programs in the region.
• Effectively interpret and communicate country or location needs and identify and assist in crafting appropriate solutions to meet needs.
• Manage activities which require regional coordination, such as implementation of market adjustments, sales schemes and revisions of local policies across various business units.
• Support the company`s business strategy, including operations closures / openings / expansions as well as restructuring and relocations.
• Provide support and advice in all areas of people management and development and ensure that the agreed HR strategy across the business/functional teams is implemented effectively.
• Work with managers and RPO to recruit the right talent in a timely and efficient manner.
• Support change management initiatives and act as key driver and facilitator of change in support of functional business initiatives.
• Work with managers to help them engage employees, address people issues and continually raise the level of performance.
• In conjunction with HR and Talent Management Leadership, responsible for development of HR Talent within the companies, including assessment, selection, coaching, mentoring, focused on service to the businesses operating in the region.
• Support business and HRBPs to insure succession planning and targeted development plans are implemented and followed for mid-level leadership teams.
• Support development, delivery and reporting of HR Metrics, including running regular reports from GV and analyzing/interpreting data trends for the region.
• Ensure legal compliance as it relates to employment in all countries within the Americas.
• Support safe workplace cultures and compliance with Smiths EH&S requirements.
The Candidate
Candidates must have a proven track record of success in progressively more senior HR roles in organizations recognized for the quality and commercial focus of the HR function. Previous experience of working with a high-performing team in a multi-site, multi-cultural international business is desirable.
The following experience, skills and personal attributes are key:
• Business Degree, Masters preferred with 6+ years of progressive Human Resource experience.
• Experience as an HR professional in supporting multi-site/multi-country business.
• Ability to clearly communicate and influence, verbally and written.
• Ability to interact effectively with and motivate professional, managerial and direct labor personnel.
• Experience in influencing leaders and providing guidance on HR related issues.
• Strategic business acumen and planning ability.
• Experience working in an HR function as a Business Partner drawing on support from a Shared Service Centre and central Centers of Excellence.
• Experience in the following key HR skill areas: Talent Management; Culture Change; Change Management and Reward Management.
• Ability to drive and facilitate culture and organizational change across a number of countries.
• Ability to contribute to the strategic agenda while balancing day to day operational responsibilities; able to shift thinking from concept to detail.
• Ability to deliver clear and unbiased judgments about people, relationships and
organizational issues.
• Able to cope under pressure and manage a wide range of priorities with multiple
