Launched in San Francisco in April 2016, Vote.org is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that uses technology to simplify political engagement, increase voter turnout, and strengthen American democracy. Vote.org believes Americans want to vote, and will vote in higher numbers and more consistently as voting becomes more convenient. To make this a reality, Vote.org identifies roadblocks to voting and aggressively works to clear them. Its innovative work includes building and maintaining the Vote.org website and a comprehensive toolset – including a voter registration tool, an absentee ballot tool, a voter registration status tool, and an election reminders tool – which is free and accessible to anyone. Vote.org also conducts proactive outreach to low-propensity voters, including young people and people of color, through a variety of innovative media campaigns.
