PostHog was founded by James and Tim on January 23rd, 2020. We started working together on a startup in August 2019 with the first idea being to help engineers manage technical debt. It didn`t work out, but we realized the power of treating growth as an engineering problem. We also knew that many engineers struggle to understand their impact on their users.
Campana Systems Inc. was founded in 1988 by Grant Roberts and Brad Bell, both graduates of the University of Waterloo. Roberts and Bell opened for business in a small office on Victoria Street in Kitchener, Ontario in 1988. Jim Hardy, a University of Guelph graduate, joined the team in 1990 as Development Manager and third owner. From the beginning, Roberts, Bell and Hardy emphasized service, excellence and long-term customer relationships. Today, Campana employs more than 100 people in Canada, Australia and New Zealand and consists of two focused divisions, offering two leading products suites:
