Align Income Share Funding was started as Cumulus Funding in 2011, as the first source of Income Share Agreements (ISAs) to the general public in the United States. ISAs are a more flexible alternative to a personal loan. Instead of payments being based on a fixed interest rate over a set time frame, ISA payments are based on a small percentage of a consumers future income over a fixed period of time. Payments fluctuate with income, potentially all the way to zero if someone becomes unemployed.
