Louisiana Workers` Compensation Corporation is a private, nonprofit mutual insurance company that revitalized a workers` comp system on the verge of collapse and has continued to provide much-needed stability in Louisiana. Working as safety partners with policyholders, LWCC`s loss prevention consultants take the time to understand the intricacies of a business, make recommendations for reducing hazards and assist in developing and tailoring a safety program. • The company`s claims department is committed to facilitating the best care possible for injured workers and consists of in-house investigative claims representatives, catastrophic claims specialists, and a recovery unit that specializes in recovering money through third-party liability and the Second Injury Fund. • LWCC`s occupational medicine department includes a medical review team, a physician medical director, and registered nurses who proactively monitor physician requests, pharmacy utilization, and durable medical equipment use. • LWCC has a statewide occupational medicine network comprised of more than 2,000 doctors, hospitals, home health providers, physical therapists, and occupational medicine specialists that provides quality medical care to injured workers and is committed to returning injured workers back to work as quickly and safely as possible. • LWCC`s in-house legal unit is comprised of attorneys who specialize in handling state workers` compensation defense, longshore defense, employer`s liability defense and subrogation recovery.
Since 1939, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter has been dedicated to its mission: support animals, save lives, spread compassion. We are northern New Mexicos only open-admission, no-kill shelter. As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, we receive nearly all of our funding from private donors in our community and beyond. Santa Fe Animal Shelter focuses on spay/neuter programs to control overpopulation, creative adoption efforts to bring pets to loving families and dozens of programs providing support for marginalized animals. Thanks to a partnership with the City of Santa Fe and the Bureau of Land Management, the main Shelter is housed on a 100-acre campus with hiking trails and plenty of room to walk dogs.
