Hornsby Tire Distributors was founded in Ariton, Alabama in 1967 by Mr. Bobby Hornsby. Mr. Hornsby began operations in a renovated church with one International pickup truck. Mr. Roger Hornsby purchased the company from his father in 1995. Under Roger`s leadership, the company experienced its first round of growth with an additional distribution center in Dothan, Alabama. Hornsby Tire Distributors was founded in Ariton, Alabama in 1967 by Mr. Bobby Hornsby. Mr. Hornsby began operations in a renovated church with one International pickup truck. Mr. Roger Hornsby purchased the company from his father in 1995. Under Roger`s leadership, the company experienced its first round of growth with an additional distribution center in Dothan, Alabama. New ownership and senior management was ushered into the business at the end of 2009 and quickly built upon the foundation that Mr. Hornsby provided. In 2011 we began our next wave of expansion as we established a greenfield distribution center in the growing Huntsville, Alabama market. The year 2012 brought two major initiatives - the first being the consolidation of our Ariton and Dothan facilities into a new and much larger Dothan, Alabama distribution center. The second major development in 2012 was the acquisition of David Tire Company located in Birmingham, Alabama. This significant acquisition enabled Hornsby Tire Distributors to not only provide coverage to 100% of Alabama, but also increase our market reach in Georgia and Mississippi. Our most recent expansion was an additional greenfield distribution center in Columbus, GA that was established in 2014. Our current footprint covers 100% of Alabama, and significant portions of Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee. What began with one pickup truck and a renovated church has grown into four distribution centers, dozens of delivery vehicles, and an experienced and dedicated team committed to helping your business grow.
