Vice President Technology | Profile |
NaturEner USA and NaturEner Canada develop and operate wind power generation projects and have invested more than $800 million in North America since 2006. Our goal is to be a leading, diversified renewable energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) across different green energy technologies and geographies. We strive to demonstrate our commitment to building a portfolio of productive, highly efficient and environmentally responsible power generating resources. The Glacier Wind 1 and Glacier Wind 2 wind power projects achieved commercial operation in 2008 and 2009, respectively, and together represent 210 MW of installed capacity. Rim Rock, a 189 MW wind power project achieved commercial operation at the end of 2012. NaturEner now has 399 MW of clean, renewable energy operating in its North American portfolio. NaturEner operates its assets from the NaturEner Operations Center, a state-of-the-art, 24/7, real-time desk, which was developed to support the commercial and operational functions of NaturEner’s generation and transmission assets. The NaturEner Operations Center also manages the first wind-only Balancing Authority in North America. In addition to its operating projects, NaturEner also has a pipeline of approximately 800 MW of wind power projects in different stages of development in the US and Canada. NaturEner works with local governments, communities, landowners and other stakeholders to harness sustainable energy resources. Our focus is to provide clean, green energy in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. We develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with the surrounding communities. We strive to create a positive social, environmental and economic impact in the communities where we operate. NaturEner is a group of privately held companies with offices and operations in the United States and Canada.
Nebraska Public Power District is Nebraska`s largest electric utility, with a chartered territory including all or parts of 86 of Nebraska`s 93 counties. NPPD is a public corporation and political subdivision of the state of Nebraska. The utility is governed by an 11-member Board of Directors, who are popularly elected from NPPD`s chartered territory. NPPD`s revenue is mainly derived from wholesale power supply agreements with 51 towns and 25 rural public power districts and rural cooperatives who rely totally or partially on NPPD`s electrical system. NPPD also serves about 80 communities at the retail level. Over 5,000 miles of transmission lines make up the NPPD electrical grid system, which delivers power to about one million Nebraskans. Because of our role as both a retail and wholesale provider, an estimated 1 million people in Nebraska depend on NPPD for electricity. View NPPD`s Who We Serve section for a complete listing.
