The Chief Financial Officer reports to the President and Chief Executive Officer and leads the development and maintenance of financial planning, accounting, and reporting processes. The CFO is also responsible for the safekeeping and privacy of Heartland Center`s assets and financial information, which requires the enforcement of various financial policies and controls throughout the entire company. Working closely with Operations, the CFO promotes transparency and accountability across the organization so that Heartland`s growth is responsible and its risks are visible and managed.

• Provide leadership in budgeting, accounting, payroll, financial reporting, and technology.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization`s fiscal function and performance.
• Establish written policies and implement effective internal controls over physical assets, cash, and expenditures.
• Prepare accurate, timely, written financial reports.
• Identify and leverage the key business drivers to track performance and build on the HCBC value proposition.
• Create a culture of engagement and collaboration amongst the corporate and site financial teams.
• Utmost integrity and compliance around the accounting and finance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range financial planning and forecasting.
• Optimize the handling of bank relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
• Develop a reliable cash flow projection process.

Experience
• At least 10 years of accounting or finance experience, of which 5 years must be served in a financial leadership role
• Non-profit background specific to healthcare, behavioral healthcare, hospitals and physician practices preferred, which includes revenue cycle management, reimbursement, payor contracting, decision support, and business intelligence functional leadership.
• Demonstrated track record of leveraging technology and innovation to drive revenue.
• Interpersonal skills that have developed advantageous and measurable relationships with, payers, auditors, intermediaries, and customers.
• Bachelor`s degree required / MBA, CPA (certified public accountants) or CMA (certified management accountant) certification preferred.
