Our Life is Precious Program provides suicide prevention activities for Latina teens who have seriously considered or attempted suicide. According to a Centers of Disease Control and Prevention survey, in 2011 15.7% of Latina teens in NYC seriously considered &11.3% attempted suicide. In Brooklyn and the Bronx, where LIP is located, 16.7% and 16.5% of Latina teens, respectively, seriously considered suicide during that time - a rate far greater than their non-Hispanic counterparts.
