Responsibilities:
• Coordinate human resources activities in the absence of the HR Manager.
• Anticipate staffing requirements and ensure a well-balanced and well-integrated staff.
• Responsible for recruiting, screening, and interviewing potential associates. Coordinate all internal and external posting activities for both hourly and salaried employees, internally, through HbI`s talent acquisition department, if appropriate, and through the local Employment Security Commission.
• Ensures that the HR Polices Manual, as well as other manuals, are kept current. Analyzes the effectiveness of HR policies and practices. Recommends suitable revisions to Director HR based on results of analysis.
• Ensures that associates are kept aware of HR policies and associate benefit programs on a continuing basis.
• Maintains an active salary and position classification program, providing information to HR Manager about the rationale, scope, and usage of classification procedures and assisting them, as necessary, in applying this information to job descriptions.
• Responsible for the effective operation of the associate evaluation program to ensure that the proper performance and utilization of the associate`s skills are made. Ensures that supervisors conduct meaningful associate evaluations. These are to be used in evaluating associates for completion of probationary period, merit increase, transfers, promotions, demotions, etc.
• Ensures that new associates receive proper orientation. Works with various supervisors, managers, on monitoring and continually upgrading on-the-job training, as needed.
• Assist with associate training activities, such as lectures, classes, seminars, conferences and schools.
• Coordinates special meetings of associates and training classes, as requested by management, to ensure that each associate is kept current and informed of organizational issues.
• Assists in developing and preparing a department budget. Operates within adopted budget unless exception is approved by HR Manager.
• Provides guidance to Dept. Managers, Supervisors, and associates on problems originating from individual work situations or work environment. Advises and assists associates, upon request, to resolve problems. Counsels management and associates on complaints. Takes appropriate steps to see that they are resolved or channeled to Open Door Procedures, if necessary.
• Advises management on the responsibility of the company under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Employment Opportunity Act, Workers Compensation Act, and other government statues and programs affecting personnel administration or the health and safety of associates.
• Coordinate Affirmative Action Program record keeping assuring appropriate employment actions are maintained. Maintain Affirmative Action Program and EEO Reporting.
• Complete and submit on timely basis all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
• Maintain thorough working knowledge of Kronos and Lawson systems.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
• Four year degree in Business Administration or Human Resource Management required
• 3 to 5 years facility human resources experience
• PHR or SPHR preferred
