Job Description
General Position Summary:
Supports the Human Resource department and programs by providing human resource services, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, training and development, succession planning, retention, AA/EEO compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Primary Responsibilities and Training Needs:
* Conducts recruitment effort (prepare job announcements, screen applicants, interview) for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees
* Conducts new employee orientations
* Monitors career path programs
* Handles exit interviews
* Provide information pertaining to the Company`s facility and job opportunities to potential applicants
* Refer applicants to specific job openings, check references, arrange for background checks to be performed and processes changes in employment status
* Correspond with job applicants to notify them of employment consideration
* Assist in the development of company staff by providing support to increase employee engagement and enhancing the effectiveness of employees` performance in the work place
* Assist in the selection and development of teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and online training, reference material and continuing education
* Coordinates all external recruitment efforts (expos, fairs, etc.)
* Provide backup assistance in the absence of the Director of Human Resources
* Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Specific Job Skills:
* Knowledge of current personnel practices and labor & employment law
* Proficient in Microsoft Office systems and procedures (ADP a plus)
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including large group presentations
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to self-monitor in terms of meeting deadlines and working with little supervision
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Professional demeanor
Required Education and/or Experience:
* Bachelor`s Degree in relevant field
* Minimum 3-5 years of human resources experience
* Proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees and external contacts
