The Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU) is the undergraduate student government at Michigan State University. We operate autonomously of the university and represent students and advocate for student issues at the university, municipal, state, and federal levels, often traveling to Lansing and Washington D.C. With the inception of the Business Information Management (BIM) major in 2008, a group of students banded together in 2010 to establish Management Information Student Society, commonly known as MAISS (/meɪs/). The group of BIM students hoped to create a tight-knit community of BIM students to persevere through the difficulties of the newly-established curriculum.
