The medical school was created in unprecedented partnership with local taxpayers, who in 2012 voted to support a vision for better health in Austin and Travis County. Schreiner University in the Texas Hill Country (Kerrville) is a premier place of learning where 1,200 students choose from 41 majors and programs, including life sciences, graphic design, business ethics, nursing and Masters programs in business and education.
