Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital, with support from our dedicated adult volunteers, provides girls with a fun, high-quality leadership program. Girl Scouts opens a world of opportunities for girls to make friends, learn new skills, discover the world and explore science, volunteer, go camping and more. As the largest girl-serving organization, our main focus is on leadership development for girls. Girl Scouting has helped girls develop the skills and confidence they need succeed. From our earliest badges in electricity, aeronautics, and natural sciences to today’s all-girl robotics teams and cookie entrepreneurs, girls have challenged themselves through our skill-building opportunities, worked with inspiring role models, and developed lifelong friendships. We’re preparing the next generation of girls for their futures, ensuring that they not only have doors open to them, but also that they possess the confidence to walk through those doors. Girl Scouts Nation`s Capital serves girls in grades K-12 in the Greater Washington Region (District of Columbia and 25 counties in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia).

Cincinnati Works serves two clients: those individuals in the community who are currently unemployed or underemployed and Employers who have entry level positions. The short-term goal for the unemployed is to help them stabilize in a job that pays a living wage with health benefits. The long-term goal for the underemployed is for them to earn 200% of the federal poverty rate and move to economic self-sufficiency. Economically self-sufficient people become taxpayers and productive citizens who no longer require public assistance. As a primarily privately-funded organization, we are able to serve any willing and capable job seekers who are eligible for our program. We are able to serve those who would otherwise be ineligible for other programs (e.g. men, women without dependent children and women without children).
Since its founding 140 years ago, YWCA Metropolitan Chicago has been committed to serving the needs of women and girls. The YWCA`s mission to eliminate racism and empower women is actualized through a large breadth of programs and services. Regardless of race or economic status, the YWCA provides women with the support and tools they need to transform their lives, to be confident in their choices and to make valuable contributions to their communities. The YWCA`s Core programmatic areas include: Economic Empowerment Services, Sexual Violence Support Services, and Early Childhood Services. The YWCA serves over 200,000 women, children and families annually through these programs. And while the YWCA`s services are broad and varied, they are linked by a common thread—a dedication to promoting racial justice and personal empowerment.
