Karara will deliver both high grade magnetite concentrate and Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) hematite. An aggressive growth strategy is in place to increase production from Karara and other deposits in the Mid West region to a targeted level of more than 30Mtpa. The first shipment of DSO from Karara occurred in March 2011. The major magnetite project, which is targeting stage one production of 8Mtpa of high grade concentrate made its first shipment in January 2013.
