From small beginnings towards the end of the 19th century, the collection of historic places we manage has grown to over 400, inspired by a determination to put Englands heritage ahead of private interest. Originally set up as a government agency in 1983, English Heritage has now become a registered charity. We offer a hands-on experience that will inspire and entertain people of all ages.
