We work collaboratively with airlines, labor, Congress and the Administration and other groups to improve air travel for everyone. Annually, commercial aviation helps drive nearly $1.5 trillion in U.S. economic activity and more than 11 million U.S. jobs. Founded in 1902 and headquartered near Baltimore, Maryland, the American Urological Association (AUA) is a premier urologic association providing invaluable support to the urologic community, with more than 22,000 members throughout the world. As an educational nonprofit organization, the AUA pursues its mission of promoting the highest standards of urologic clinical care through education, research and in the formulation of health care policy. The AUA is governed by its board of directors, which includes six officers, eight section representatives and a group of non-voting consultants. There are a variety of categories for membership, but all members are expected to adhere to the association’s Code of Ethics. Every specialty needs a support system — to allow physicians to network and collaborate and increase educational opportunities — urologists in the United States and around the world recognize the AUA as that system.
