Description Are you a “hands-on” Chief Technology Officer, Director of Cybersecurity or perhaps a Director/VP of Engineering ready to take-on an exciting role as a CTO and Technical Strategy Leader for a growing Cybersecurity and Engineering firm? In this role, you will report to our CEO and you will work directly with him to develop and enhance our technology strategy. You will have overall responsibility for our Technology Solutions Group (TSG) and will have autonomy and ownership in developing our solution roadmap, its architecture and will be responsible for all of our technology decisions.
The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking visionary with experience in a start-up culture while leading guiding a mature public company. You must have 12+ years of professional experience building and scaling technical systems in the security field, preferably supporting the Department of Defense or a major Federal Civilian agency and demonstrated experience working within DoD Instructions including DoD 8510.01 OR NIST based standards, especially 800 series special publications to include, NIST SP 800-37 among others.
Some of the major responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
• Evolve and mature FWG`s strategic direction and technical roadmap
• Imagine and lead the design, development, test and launch of our firm`s cybersecurity solutions to include: developing and maturing a threat intelligence program; developing and maturing solutions around Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Continuous Monitoring
• Grow the technical organization through effective hiring, coaching, motivating and development of a world class technology team.
• Act as FWG`s technical spokesperson at public and customer-facing events and provide assistance as lead SME in developing outward facing marketing materials including whitepapers etc.
• Strong understanding of agile and lean processes and how to leverage those processes within engineering teams, while also taking into account non-technical viewpoints
• Experience taking a leading role in building complex enterprise-level software systems that have been successfully implemented
• Prepare appropriate threat intelligence content for customer and executive presentations.
• Ability to communicate and influence at all levels, from the junior engineer to an executive audience
• Develop, define and track FWG`s threat escalation criteria along with specific FWG branded technical solutions
• Support FWG`s strategic growth plans by developing deep trusted relationships with our clients and working with our Business Development team to grow our pipeline
• Work with and support our Proposal Team by providing subject matter expertise on proposal responses
Position Requirements Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Bachelor`s Degree in Information Systems or Engineering is required; MS or PhD in preferred
• 12+ years of professional experience in Information Technology (IT), with a minimum of 10 years of experience leading and managing a cybersecurity practice area
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud-based system architectures, FedRAMP deployments a plus.
• Experience with DoD Information Assurance (IA) policies such as DoD 8510 and A&A/C&A processes
• Recent experience in emerging technologies such as cloud, large data and security of data acquisition (SCADA) systems is a tremendous plus.
• Understanding and background in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) a plus
• Prior experience in strategic planning, cloud and cybersecurity tool evaluation, solution development, FISMA Assessments, Risk Management Framework (RMF) procedures, and a technical background to help solve complex problems, or in support of complex information systems development/support efforts is required.
• “Hands-on” leadership experience in building and managing IT/cybersecurity consultancy practice/team focused on solution development of cyber threat technologies.
