The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report directly to the CEO/President. This is a strategic role in the development and implementation of a highly ambitious growth plan which includes acquisitions. It is imperative that the CFO is able to articulate and define the long-range financial goals and objectives of the company while implementing the reporting metrics that will allow the Company`s executive level management team to be able to make sound long-term strategic decisions. A critical function is to find inefficiencies, reduce costs and quickly implement synergies when acquisitions are made.
The CFO`s primary responsibility will be to establish processes and procedures which can support and encourage dramatic business growth and cost reduction through synergies as the company grows and acquires other companies. The CFO will also be responsible for day-to-planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for financial accounting, forecasting, financial reporting, strategic planning, acquisition analysis, banking relationships, and private and institutional financing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to:
• Creating and reporting financial statements to the President and Board of Directors.
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the corporation including cost and manufacturing accounting.
• Ensure the effectiveness and integrity of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
• Manage the cash-flow position of the company including the authority to establish credit and collections and purchasing policies and to establish schedules for the payment of bills and financial obligations.
• Coordinate the long-range plans of the corporation, assesses the financial requirements implicit in these plans and develops alternative ways in which financial requirements can be satisfied.
• Maintain and grow relationships with financial institutions in conjunction with the President. Proactively manage banking arrangements and loan agreements. Maintain adequate sources for the company`s current borrowings from commercial banks and other lending institutions.
• Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
• Manage the Company`s` insurance requirements.
• Provide advice on all matters to the President and assist the President in the formulation of overall corporate objectives.
• Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, trends and forecasts.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior managers in order to identify needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
• Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and reporting for the company.
• Participate in identifying and developing new business opportunities.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
• Oversee HR staff to ensure proper maintenance of all systems and internal controls.
• Supervise acquisition due diligence and help negotiate acquisitions.
• Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
• Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Finance with advanced degree (MBA) and/or CPA strongly preferred.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in financial leadership roles preferably in the outdoor goods or textile industries.
• Excellent practical knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong record of implementing process improvements.
• Strong corporate executive leadership abilities.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Strategic planning and budgeting expertise.
• Experience working with information technology staff to manage finance and accounting software packages.
• Strong eye for details.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
• Manufacturing and importation experience preferred with experience in the textile industry a plus.
