York Community High School, established in 1917 and accredited since 1925, is a distinguished four-year comprehensive high school. Located on a 45-acre campus, York currently has an enrollment of 2,653 students. The Class of 2014 graduated 625 students, 96 percent of whom matriculated to degree granting institutions. Over 80 percent of students participate in one or more extracurricular activities. Approximately 5,640 EC-8 students attend Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205`s twelve additional schools. Bryan, Churchville and Sandburg Middle Schools are the District 205 “feeder” schools to York High School, which also serves students from several community parochial/private schools.
