The City of Winooski was established on March 7, 1922. We are located in Northwest Vermont, just across the Winooski River from Burlington at the heart of Chittenden County. Winooski`s 1.43 square miles is home to about 7,300 residents. Our award-winning “Smart Growth” downtown, beautiful Winooski River, and vibrant business sector make Winooski a very dynamic and exciting place to live and work. We are also proud to be a designated Refugee Resettlement community and home to many diverse newcomers to our country. As the most diverse community in the state, and with over 30 languages spoken by residents, our community offers a cultural richness not available in many other places in Vermont. Horn Lake is a city in DeSoto County, Mississippi, United States which is located south of Memphis, Tennessee. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the population of Horn Lake was 26,066, up from 14,099 in 2000.
Hammond’s stability is directly tied to its livability. In addition to economic factors, people are always searching for the intangible but important “quality of life” aspect of a community when choosing a place to call home. Since I’ve been Mayor, Hammond’s quality of life has improved, and will continue to improve. Hammond is blessed to be located on Lake Michigan, but until fairly recently, that view was primarily an industrial view. Only recently have family friendly and ecologically appropriate improvements have been made to Hammond’s lakefront property with an aim towards preservation as well as enjoyment. The brand new pavilion on Wolf Lake not only beautifies the shores, but provides entertainment and cultural opportunities for Hammond’s families year round. The City of Hammond also supports educational opportunities and choices with a state of the art Charter School as well as the College Bound program which insures that Hammond’s best minds have a chance to succeed regardless of family income. Hammond, under my administration also continues to encourage and promote economic development. Hammond encourages existing business to put their best face forward by way of the façade rebate program and continues to work to beautify the gateways leading into our beautiful City.
Monterey is a waterfront community on the central coast of California with a temperate climate year-round. Kayaking, scuba diving, surfing, whale watching and beach-going are just some of the activities to be enjoyed in and around Monterey. Golf, shopping, and driving the spectacular coastline to Big Sur are a few of the many land-based adventures. Monterey is home to the world-renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium, a must-see attraction that delights and educates millions of visitors every year. Step outside the Aquarium and you`re on Cannery Row, where John Steinbeck drew inspiration for his novel about life in Monterey during the heyday of the sardine canning industry. Today "the Row" is lined with hotels, shops and restaurants and features fun activities for the entire family. From Cannery Row, you can walk or ride a rented surrey or segway along the scenic Recreation Trail to Fisherman`s Wharf. Along the way, you`ll see harbor seals, sea otters and pelicans in natural habitats on the dazzling waterfront of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
Taunton is a city in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States, located approximately 40 miles (64 km) south of Boston, 18 miles (29 km) east of Providence, 10 miles (16 km) north of Fall River, 20 miles (32 km) north of New Bedford, and 25 miles (40 km) west of Plymouth. It is also the seat of Bristol County. Taunton is situated on the Taunton River which winds its way through the city on its way to Mount Hope Bay, 10 miles (16 km) to the south. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 55,874. Founded in 1637 by members of the Plymouth Colony, Taunton is one of the oldest towns in the United States. The native Americans called the region Cohannet, Tetiquet and Titicut before the arrival of the Europeans. Taunton is also known as the Silver City, as it was an historic center of the silver industry beginning in the 19th century when companies such as Reed & Barton, F. B. Rogers, Poole Silver, and others produced fine-quality silver goods in the city.
