The Golden State Warriors organization is a charter member of the National Basketball Association. Founded in 1946, the Warriors called the city of Philadelphia home for 16 memorable years before moving to the West Coast in 1962 to become the San Francisco Warriors and ultimately, in 1971, the Golden State Warriors when the team moved to its current home in Oakland. The team`s storied history includes five NBA Championships, six of the NBA`s 50 Greatest Players and 27 members of Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The Warriors D-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, just finished their fifth season in Northern California and have appeared in the NBA D-League Finals in each of their first three seasons in Santa Cruz (2012-13 through 2014-15) and won the D-League Championship in 2015. Seattle Sounders FC is a professional soccer club based in Seattle and competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top professional soccer league in the United States and Canada. Sounders FC was established in November 2007 as a MLS expansion team, making it the 15th team in the league. Fans chose the Sounders name through an online poll in 2008, making the Seattle Sounders FC the third Seattle soccer team to share the moniker.
In 1896, the Devon Horse Show started as a one-day show. Now, years later, it has become the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed competition in the United States. The Auburn Tigers compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics as a charter member of the Southeastern Conference. Auburn fields 19 varsity teams with approximately 500 student-athletes supported by more than 200 full-time staff on the campus of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. College sports fans would be hard-pressed to find a program more steeped in tradition than Auburn. Since the University first fielded a football team in 1892, the legends associated with the Tigers have passed down through generations of fans.
